If alar cartilage is upturned
Reposition alar cartilage
If your alar cartilage is upturned and shows too much nostril, the alar cartilage is separated and additional cartilage is placed to position the nasal tip downward.

If nose skin is upturned
Position alar downward(skin graft)
If the nose looks upturned due to lack of elasticity, an incision is made in the inner nostrils and skin is implanted to lower the alar.

If alar is droopy
Project alar(skin removal)
If droopy alar makes your nose look unbalanced, inner nose skin is removed and tightly pulled up and fastened.

If Nostrils are large
Nostrils reduction
If the nostrils are too large, nostril size is reduced through nostrils reduction procedure.

Asymmetrical nostril shape due to septum deviation
Implant septum support
In case of asymmetrical nostrils, septal support is implanted to symmetrically adjust the height of the alar cartilage

Distorted nostrils(Reconstruction surgery)
V-Y incision/implant + cartilage implant
If the shape of nostrils are distorted due to side effects of the primary surgery, a V-shape incision is made on the inside of the nose and a Y-shaped cartilage is implanted and sutured.

If you need to incise outer skin however, suturing is important to avoid scarring. Scars usually form when the skin tissue doesn’t properly join together during the healing process.
