What is GNG Tip Rhinoplasty?
TThe tip of the nose is the most protruding area and can be considered the center of the face.
It is said to be the center of a facial impression seen in all three angles. Although a tip rhinoplasty is the most basic of nose shaping surgeries, much more expertise and skill is required for patients of Asian descent compared to Western patients as Asians tend to have less nasal cartilage and thicker nose skin.
Therefore, it is necessary to be able to conduct surgery for all types of noses and crucial to have a sufficient consultation with an experienced specialist.

Because the tip of the nose is subjected to severe friction due to the strength of the support, implants such as L-shaped silicon is more like to cause inflammation than in any other areas. GNG Hospital analyzes the amount and strength of cartilage in each individual through preoperative 3D-CT scans and precision testing. Then, the most suitable autologous cartilage / bio-implant is selected to be implanted to the end of the nose. If cartilage extraction is deemed to be difficult, a PCL plate can be used to provide a sharp nose tip with minimal inflammatory concern.

Nasal Cartilage
Cartilage that divides the inside of the nose into two parts. Excellent material to use as support for the nose bridge. Extra incisions are unnecessary as it is collected from the inside of the nose

Ear Cartilage
Easy to collect and efficient in make a nose tip natural and sharp. Extraction scar is barely visible due to the incision being in the back of the ear.

PCL Plate
FDA Approved. There is low chance of side effects as it becomes tender and fuses well with the surrounding tissue over time. GNG Hopsital uses only PCL plates that have been licensed by the FDA for the purpose of corrective operation in the nasal septum.

GNG Hospital does not use L shaped silicone for rhinoplasty.
L shaped silicone is known as a material that makes projection of nose tip relatively easy because it connects nasal bridge and the end of nasal tip.

If the silicone irritates the skin of nasal tip, it could lead to inflammation.

If the nose tip looks stumpy due to a wide alar cartilage, improvements can be made simply by binding them together.

If nose tip is flat and alar cartilage is wide
Bind nose tip cartilage + + Insert cartilage implant for nose tip
If the nose tip angle is low, the wide alar cartilage can be bound together and autologous cartilage can be implanted on top for nasal tip projection.

Alar cartilage is weak and droopy
Bind nose tip cartilage + cartilage implant for nose tip + transplant septum support
If the alar cartilage seems to be weakly hanging without strength, septal cartilage can be inserted in between alar wing cartilage so the nose tip doesn’t collapse. Autologous cartilage is also inserted on top for the protection of the nose tip.
